NURS 249 Management of Adult Nursing

(Contact Hours: 9) This is a clinical course that continues to allow the student to function in the roles of provider and manager of care for clients with complex healthcare needs in a dynamic healthcare environment. Socialization into the dynamic healthcare setting will continue in this course. Simulation and clinical sites will provide the setting that allows the nursing student to make the most appropriate clinical decisions based on management principles. The course is designed to emphasize the skills necessary for clinical decision making utilizing the essential health concepts of care, ethics, excellence, holism, integrity, person-centered care, and diversity. PREREQUISITE: Successful completion of NURS 222, NURS 224, NURS 236, NURS 237, NURS 245, and NURS 247 is REQUIRED. Corequisite: NURS 248, NURS 252, NURS 253, and NURS 270.
