MATH 120 Finite Mathematics

(Contact Hours: 3) This is a mathematics course for business, social science, and liberal arts students. Solving applications in context using algebra and a graphing calculator is the focus of this course. Topics include business functions, systems of equations and inequalities, matrix mathematics, linear programming, financial mathematics, counting techniques, and basic probability concepts. A graphing calculator is required for this course; a TI-83 or TI-84 is highly recommended. PREREQUISITE: Writing and Reading -- minimum benchmarks will be enforced; and Math -- SAT: 27.5, ALEKS: 46, Accuplacer (Algebra): 85, NextGen Accuplacer (Quantitative Reasoning): 265, ACT: 22, COMPASS (Algebra): 65, or MATH 116 is REQUIRED.
