DHY 124 Periodontology
(Contact Hours: 3) The dental hygiene student learns the etiology of periodontal diseases, anatomy and histology of the diseased periodontium, and advanced periodontal treatment. The student will apply this knowledge in developing and implementing patient care plans including: the diagnosis, intervention, advanced clinical instrumentation, outcome assessment, maintenance, and referral when necessary. PREREQUISITE: Successful completion of DHY 111, DHY 113, DHY 114, and DHY 119 is REQUIRED. Corequisite: DHY 120, DHY 123, and DHY 129.
