PHY 111 College Physics I
(Contact Hours: 5) This is a first non-calculus course in general college physics intended for students in pre-science. Topics included are mechanics, heat, and sound, using mathematical skills of algebra and trigonometry. PREREQUISITE: Writing -- SAT: 32, Accuplacer: 105, NextGen Accuplacer: 265, ACT: 25, COMPASS: 84, or ENG 110 or ENG 160 is REQUIRED; Reading -- SAT: 23, Accuplacer: 70, NextGen Accuplacer: 250, ACT: 18, COMPASS: 80, or TRS 102 is recommended; and Math -- SAT: 31.5, ALEKS: 76, Accuplacer (College Level): 85, NextGen Accuplacer (Adv Algebra): 265, ACT: 27, COMPASS (College Algebra): 51, or MATH 152 is recommended. Reading and Math minimum benchmarks will be enforced.
