WPE 152 Swimming for Fitness
(Contact Hours: 1.5) This class is designed to physically develop the heart and lungs through swimming. Emphasis will be placed on different methods of achieving fitness. Students experience the overload principle, aerobic training, interval training, distance training, and repetition training. Measurements are taken periodically to determine the "aerobic" level. Recommended prerequisite: Ability to confidently swim at least 100 yards.
