Occupational/Technical Studies, AAS
This program of study provides students with an additional option in preparing for career advancement or transition. This degree is personalized and flexible, and designed, in part, to recognize traditional coursework available at Kalamazoo Valley in addition to structured on-the-job training, military, trade/proprietary schools, and apprenticeship programs. Students interested in this degree need to meet with a counselor or advisor to determine the appropriate concentration or emphasis of study for an individualized education plan. Students may elect to complete another recognized certificate program within this degree.

*Program major courses are selected in a concentration area, degree pathway, or emphasis of study. At least 30 credits must be in one of the following concentrations/pathways: industrial trades, business, computer technology, or credit for Prior Learning (from apprenticeship, trade/proprietary, corporate industry, military, and/or structured on-the-job training). In some cases a student may request that courses completed in a concentrated occupational program of study, not a part of those listed above, be considered for the OTS, AAS degree. In all cases students will need to meet with a Kalamazoo Valley counselor to determine the appropriate choice of concentration, degree path, or emphasis of study.
