Chemical Technology, AAS

The chemical technology program prepares graduates for employment in chemical laboratory settings including pharmaceutical, paper, plastic, waste water, and environmental laboratories. Chemical technicians may work in research and development, product testing, or general chemical analysis to help develop, test, and manufacture chemical products. Students may substitute higher level classes for the ones listed under required classes below (i.e. calculus 1 for college algebra and calculus 2 for trigonometry), and must meet with a counselor or advisor to have potential substitutions applied. Students transferring to a four-year institution will have an easier time finding a position in a research laboratory once they receive this degree.
