SOC 103 Contemporary Social Problems

(Contact Hours: 3) The study of social problems is designed to help an individual develop a high level of social consciousness. Several theoretical perspectives are examined to determine their usefulness in understanding social problems. A number of topics are identified to see why they are problems and what solutions might be possible. PREREQUISITE: Reading -- SAT: 22, Accuplacer: 53, NextGen Accuplacer: 248, ACT: 14, COMPASS: 65, or ENG 099, or TRS 096 and either TRS 104 or TRS 105 is REQUIRED; Writing -- minimum benchmarks will be enforced.
