HVAC 224 Low Temp Commercial Refrig

(Contact Hours: 5) This class will utilize the knowledge and techniques used in HVAC 124 as the background for continued studies of refrigeration and refrigerant control for low temperature commercial systems. Construction of a low temperature refrigeration system includes: refrigeration piping, defrost mechanisms, specialized refrigeration accessories, vacuum and micron measurements, weigh-in charging and setting superheat/subcool measurements, system balancing, electrical wiring including schematic drawings, sequencing correct operation, troubleshooting, and service prodecures. Recommended prerequisite: HVAC 118, HVAC 119, HVAC 123, HVAC 124, HVAC 132, and HVAC 133. Minimum benchmarks will be enforced.
