MATH 088 Foundations: Algebra II

(Contact Hours: 4) This corequisite course is designed to be taken in the second half of the a semester, directly following successful completion of MATH 087, in a compressed pairing as a part of our Accelerated Matriculation Program (AMP) courses. This course is intended to provide students an opportunity to develop conceptual understanding and procedural fluency. It is the second of a sequence of two courses that is intended to accelerate the time it takes to master the skills necessary to successfully complete College Algebra or Finite Mathematics. Students will strengthen their algebraic reasoning by building a foundation of mathematical concepts focusing on linear, exponential, and quadratic equations, modeling, function notation, linear inequalities, properties of exponents, and arithmetic with polynomials.
