MATH 245 Prob&Stats for Elem/MS Teacher
(Contact Hours: 4) This course provides the elementary/middle school education student a foundational understanding of the components of the statistical problem solving process as developed in the K-8 curriculum. This process includes: the formulations of questions, the design and implementation of data collection, the analysis of the data, and the interpretation and communication of the results of the analysis. Topics include analysis of graphical and tabular displays of data, determining and interpreting measures of center, variability and spread, the concept of randomness, theoretical and experimental probability, simulation techniques, and analytic methods of probability. Appropriate use of technology will be integrated into the course topics. PREREQUISITE: Successful completion of MATH 140 is REQUIRED.
