Course Descriptions

Course descriptions provide information about the content of a course, and include whether there are required course prerequisites or corequisites.

Prerequisites

A prerequisite is a course you must complete before enrolling in a second course. In some cases, prerequisite courses may be taken concurrently. Unless otherwise indicated, "successful completion" of a prerequisite course means that you have earned a 2.0 grade or higher. Students currently attending a course that is a required prerequisite for another course are allowed to pre-enroll for the second course. If you do not pass the prerequisite course with at least a 2.0 grade, you will automatically be dropped from the second course before the semester begins.

For more information about prerequisites, visit the Prerequisite Requirements page.

Corequisites

Corequisites are courses that must be taken together. There are two types of corequisites offered.

  • Support classes designed to help you be successful in college-level English and math courses. These courses are taught by the same instructor and are typically offered back-to-back. Students must make sure they select specific paired sections of these courses when making registration changes.
  • Paired classes designed to be taken together as a part of a specific program of study. These courses may be taught by different instructors and meet on different days and times. Students must select any section of each of the paired courses when making registration changes.
