LPN 147 Pharmacotherapeutics for LPNs

(Contact Hours: 3.5) Designed for the LPN scope of practice, this course focuses on pharmacology, drug therapy, pharmacologic-therapeutic classes of drugs, prototype drugs, and drug information resources. Nursing issues related to drug administration and treatment regimens will also be discussed. The student will recognize and apply the concepts of pharmacotherapeutics to the nursing process and critically think about the delivery of care to patients, their families, and the community. PREREQUISITE: Successful completion of LPN 101, LPN 103, LPN 108, and either BIO 210 or BIO 215 is REQUIRED.
