ECO 201 Macroeconomics

(Contact Hours: 3) This principles course surveys basic macroeconomic theories and applications. Macroeconomics is the study of total or "aggregate" economic activity. For instance, the course investigates the problems of inflation and unemployment. Major topics also include: Gross Domestic Product (GDP) measurement, national income determination, money and banking, fiscal and monetary policy, and international finance. PREREQUISITE: Writing -- SAT: 32, Accuplacer: 105, ACT: 25, COMPASS: 84, or ENG 110 or ENG 160 is REQUIRED; Reading -- SAT: 22, Accuplacer: 53, ACT: 14, COMPASS: 65, or ENG 099, or TRS 096 and either TRS 104 or TRS 105 is REQUIRED; and Math -- SAT: 27.5, ALEKS: 46, Accuplacer (Algebra): 85, ACT: 22, COMPASS (Algebra): 65, or MATH 116 is REQUIRED.
