GEO 102 World Geography-Maps & Media

(Contact Hours: 3) This course is an introduction to world regional geography for elementary education majors. It will examine different world regions based upon their human and physical characteristics and their economics and political organization. A major topic for each region is the general relationship between people and land that reflect cultural traditions and preferences of the people living there and the ways in which the land is used. Regional issues will be addressed. Information will be presented through textual materials, slides, film, video, and atlas study guide activities designed to enhance learning about the characteristics of places and regions. Corequisite: Must be enrolled as an elementary education major. Minimum benchmarks will be enforced.
