WPE 131 Exercise Physiology

(Contact Hours: 3) This course deals with the physiological and behavior aspects of physical fitness. The goal of the course is to master the basic facts, concepts, principles, and skills of developing and implementing individual physical fitness programs. Major topics include: cardiovascular disease risk factors, medical screening, exercise and safety, blood pressure assessment, basic anatomy and kinesiology, strength training, flexibility, cardiovascular prescription, nutrition, weight management, and facility operations. PREREQUISITE: Successful completion of BIO 110 and WPE 101 is REQUIRED.
