BREW 170 Cellar Operations & Technology
(Contact Hours: 5) Serving as part two of quality beer production, students will gain an understanding of technological design, materials of construction, and operation and performance of fermenting and finishing processes. Sustainable management and handling of fermenting and finishing waste by-products and energy efficiency will be studied. Personal safety and safe operation of fermenting and finishing equipment will be emphasized. A basic understanding of process management will be discussed. PREREQUISITE: Successful completion of BREW 100 and BREW 130 is REQUIRED. BREW 140, BREW 151, and BREW 152 are recommended.
