CHM 120 General Chemistry I
(Contact Hours: 6) This is a college chemistry course that builds on the knowledge gained from a high school chemistry course or introductory college chemistry course such as CHM 099 or CHM 100. Content includes chemical terminology, stoichiometry, properties of gases, atomic theory, chemical bonding, and an introduction to solution chemistry and thermochemistry. Recommended prerequisite: CHM 099 and MATH 116, or one year of high school chemistry; Reading - ACT: 18, COMPASS: 80, or TRS 102; and Math - ACT: 22, COMPASS (PreAlgebra): 65, or MATH 116. Minimum benchmarks will be enforced.
