ANM 282 Design Crew Merit Course
(Contact Hours: 5) This course is an advanced-level design course. It is a designated SERVICE LEARNING COURSE. This means that in addition to normal coursework students will be expected to execute a service learning project. The course will provide students with an opportunity to work with real clients on visual communication projects. Clients include the college, nonprofit agencies, and other organizations. These projects are by definition independent and will vary greatly depending on the needs of the client. Students will have the opportunity to use their technical and conceptual skills within a team format, reflecting the reality of the design industry. The Design Crew Merit course imparts a culture of creativity, a high level of professionalism, and high expectations. In the direction of continuing development, students will be raising expectations of themselves. ANM 282 Design Crew Merit course is a benchmark course within the Art & New Media Guided Pathways. In order for the student to advance, a 2.0 GPA is required upon completion of the course. Students are encouraged to be proactive about seeking advice from faculty or academic counselors for problems affecting performance or participation in their courses. Instructor permission is REQUIRED. Minimum benchmarks will be enforced.
