FRL 208 Spanish Language Through Film

(Contact Hours: 3) This course will utilize Spanish language films as a tool to help students acquire communicative competence on a plurality of levels, including linguistic, sociolinguistic, cultural, and intercultural. Through the viewing of films and by participating in a variety of pre-viewing, viewing and post-viewing film exercises and discussion, students will have the opportunity to strengthen their ability to comprehend and produce in the Spanish language while at the same time improving upon their cultural and intercultural literacy as it pertains to the Spanish-speaking world. PREREQUISITE: Writing and Reading -- minimum benchmarks will be enforced. FRL 206 is recommended.
