EDMT 135 AutoCAD

(Contact Hours: 7) This course is an introduction to AutoCAD, a CAD (computer aided drafting) software, which is used in a wide variety of design, engineering, and architectural disciplines. Topics will include creating and editing 2D geometric figures, orthographic projections, sections, the use of metric and imperial (inch) units, line weight and uses, dimensioning including manipulating dimension variables, annotation scales, view creation including third angle standard orthographic views, file storage, importing and exporting drawings to various formats, and plotting/printing drawings to a specific scale, all to acceptable industry standards. This course will primarily be limited to 2D with an introduction to 3D CAD. Minimum benchmarks will be enforced.
