ELT 238 Voice/Data/Video Systems

(Contact Hours: 5) This course covers fundamental principles, standards, and applications necessary to understand, install, and support various communication media in a network environment. To accomplish this, the course gives students the theoretical information along with extensive hands-on experience in a simulated work environment. Theory and hands-on experience is provided in three areas to fully prepare students to succeed: three technologies (twisted pair, coax, fiber), three industries (voice/telco, data, video), and three types of installation (industrial, commercial, residential). Recommended prerequisite: ELT 100, ELT 102, or ELT 110. Minimum benchmarks will be enforced.
