MATH 106 Technical Mathematics

(Contact Hours: 4) This course contains the core mathematics common to several technical programs. Topics include operations with real and signed numbers, basic algebraic operations, solving simple algebraic equations, graphing linear equations, solving systems of linear equations, fundamentals of plane geometry, applied geometry for two- and three-dimensional figures, trigonometry using right and oblique triangles, and applied trigonometry. PREREQUISITE: Writing and Reading -- minimum benchmarks will be enforced; and Math -- SAT: 23.5, ALEKS: 14, Accuplacer (Arithmetic): 80, NextGen Accuplacer (Arithmetic): 260, ACT: 18, COMPASS (PreAlgebra): 50, or MATH 097 is REQUIRED.
