WPE 181 Intermediate Pilates

(Contact Hours: 1.5) This course is a participatory class that provides instruction and practice in the fundamentals based on 90 years of exercises from the work of Joseph Pilates. A review of the basics from WPE 171 will be covered: proper posture alignment, correct breathing techniques and stabilization of the main core muscles. The intermediate exercises introduced will unite and challenge the body and mind providing balance as well as an increase in core strength, flexibility, body awareness, and posture alignment. PREREQUISITE: Writing and Reading -- minimum benchmarks will be enforced.
