The Patient Care Academy is a fast-track career training program that combines the education and job skills required for patient care in a variety of settings. Graduates of the Patient Care Academy are prepared for employment in long-term care, assisted living, dementia care, hospice, home health and acute care. Patient care is a job that requires heart-felt compassion and a desire to make people comfortable. Nurse assistants support patients with daily living activities and provide other health related services. Training includes classroom instruction, hands on experience in a lab, clinical experience and observation.
Students who successfully complete the program are eligible to take the State of Michigan examination for Certified Nurse’s Assistant.
