NURS 195 RN Bridge
(Contact Hours: 7) This course is designed for the student transitioning to the Nursing RN Completion Associate of Applied Science program. This is a dual theory and laboratory course. The theoretical portion of the course will focus on applying interrelated concepts of professional nursing practice across the lifespan, focusing on principles of health promotion and illness prevention. The course will assist students in the application and interpretation of individual, healthcare, and nursing concepts in adult patients experiencing common health alterations. The laboratory portion will focus on transitioning the student to the Registered Nurse role and application of the nursing process as related to nursing skills of patient safety, medication administration, and medical and surgical asepsis. Upon completion, the student will undergo a standardized, mid-curricular HESI exam, demonstrate competency in a comprehensive physical assessment, and safe care of an adult client. PREREQUISITE: Admission to the RN Completion program is required.
