ART 132 Introduction to Photography

(Contact Hours: 5) This film-based course will familiarize the student with basic photographic principles. No previous photographic experience is necessary to take this class. Included will be light metering, natural light control, focus, depth of field, and f-stop and shutter speed adjustments. When the camera controls are learned, black and white film development and print enlargement will be explored. Lectures, discussions, group critiques, field trips, and exhibition viewing may also be included. Camera and some materials will be provided. PREREQUISITE: Writing and Reading -- minimum benchmarks will be enforced.
