ART 213 Intermediate Photography

(Contact Hours: 7) This is a digital and film-based course that emphasizes improvement in the technical and creative quality of your photographic skills. The student is encouraged to establish an individual style and personal direction that will help them communicate through their photographs by using stronger composition. Areas that will be explored are accurate negative exposure, print contrast refinement, toning, use of creative filters, and Photoshop/Lightroom applications. Students will learn to mount, frame, and present their photographs and their work will be exhibited. Lectures, lab demonstrations, critique sessions, field trips, and exhibition viewing will help accomplish photographic goals. Camera and some materials will be provided. PREREQUISITE: Writing and Reading -- minimum benchmarks will be enforced. ART 132 is recommended.
