CUL 113 Food Business

(Contact Hours: 7) This lecture and hands-on course will introduce students to business functions from food and hospitality industry perspectives. Students will learn about food industry career pathways, types of organizational structures and incorporation, and how to write a comprehensive business plan, resume, cover letter, and other business documents. Further, students will grasp the functions of and develop their skills in marketing and sales, management, finance and accounting, and legal and ethics. This course will also allow students to implement their combined culinary and leadership skills in a lab/interactive setting. PREREQUISITE: Successful completion of CUL 100 and CUL 101 is REQUIRED.
