EDMT 260 Metallurgy/Mechanical Testing

(Contact Hours: 6) The science of metals and the relationship of alloying principles to the physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of metal alloys are studied in this course. It also covers the subsequent relationship of these principles to the casting, forming, and heat treatment of metallic materials. Laboratory experience in the testing of metals to determine their mechanical properties is included. Recommended prerequisite: high school chemistry or physics or equivalent. Minimum benchmarks will be enforced.
