CHM 150 Fundamentals/Organic Chemistry

(Contact Hours: 6) This introductory organic chemistry course covers IUPAC nomenclature, physical properties, and preparation and reactions of the following organic compounds: alkanes, cyclic alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, alkyl halides, alcohols, ethers, aromatic compounds, aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids, carboxylic acid derivatives, and amines. Laboratory work is a valued integral component. PREREQUISITE: Successful completion of CHM 100, CHM 115, or CHM 120 is REQUIRED.
