COM 270 Gender Communication

(Contact Hours: 3) This course is designed to introduce the student to the range of perspectives available on the relationship between gender and communication in four areas: (1) the nature of genders; (2) the treatment of genders in language; (3) gender differences in verbal and nonverbal communication; and (4) communication within same-gender cultures. In addition, this introduction is designed to encourage an understanding and respect for all of those perspectives. PREREQUISITE: Writing and Reading -- minimum benchmarks will be enforced. COM 200 is recommended.
