MATH 160 Calculus 1 & Analytic Geometry

(Contact Hours: 5) This serves as an introductory course in the mechanics of differentiation and integration. Topics include the analytic geometry of functions, limits and continuity, the derivative and its applications, the integral and its applications, and the analysis of exponential and logarithmic functions. A graphing calculator is required for this course; a TI-83 or TI-84 is highly recommended. PREREQUISITE: Writing and Reading -- minimum benchmarks will be enforced; and Math -- SAT: 31.5, ALEKS: 76, Accuplacer (College Level): 85, NextGen Accuplacer (Advanced Algebra): 265, ACT: 27, COMPASS (College Algebra): 51, or MATH 156 is REQUIRED.
