BREW 106 Intro to Brewing Ops
(Contact Hours: 6) This introductory level lab course will cover the basics of the brewing process and raw materials through hands-on instruction at our on-campus brewing lab facilities. Students will explore the art and science of beer making; develop a basic brewing recipe; learn the fundamentals of safety, sanitation, and organization; delve into the core ingredients of beer (malt, water, hops, and yeast); and gain an understanding of the common operations and technologies utilized in these processes. Lab content in this course will cover topics discussed in the corresponding lecture course, BREW 105. PREREQUISITE: Successful completion of or concurrent registration in BREW 105 is REQUIRED.
