BREW 156 Fermentation Ops
(Contact Hours: 6) This introductory level lab course will cover the basics of chemistry and biology through hands-on instruction at our on-campus brewing lab facilities. Students will explore principles of chemistry and biology specific to the brewing process; develop skills in analytical and microbiological quality; learn the fundamentals of laboratory safety, sanitation, and organization; delve into the management of yeast and bacteria; and gain an understanding of the common operations and technologies utilized in these processes. Lab content in this course will cover topics discussed in the corresponding lecture course, BREW 155. PREREQUISITE: Successful completion of or concurrent registration in BREW 155 is REQUIRED.
