ECE 280 Current Issues in ECE

(Contact Hours: 2) This course provides an exploration of the complex and evolving landscape of early childhood education. The course content will change to examine a current issue related to early childhood education. Possible topics may include: universal pre-K initiatives, funding disparities, workforce challenges, culturally responsive pedagogy, mental health and social-emotional learning, the use of technology in a high-quality early learning program, and the role of federal and state legislation in shaping ECE systems. Through this course, students will develop informed perspectives on key debates and design actionable solutions to real-world challenges. Departmental approval is REQUIRED.
