ECE 190 CDA Portfolio & Exam Prep
(Contact Hours: 1) This course is designed to guide early childhood education students through the final steps in earning the Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential, a nationally recognized certification awarded by the Council for Professional Recognition. Students will actively develop a comprehensive CDA Professional Portfolio, prepare for the CDA exam, and craft a personal teaching philosophy that reflects best practices in early childhood education. Emphasis will be placed on self-assessment, professional reflection, and aligning personal values with national competency standards. Successful completion of this course will prepare students to submit a successful CDA application and pursue credentialing as reflective and informed educators. Departmental approval is REQUIRED.
